Fear is Not My Future

How Fear Ignites Growth

Why do we fear?

• Misaligned priorities - people & resources over God

• Self-focus - circumstances can distort one’s outlook

• Doubt - if I have faith, why am I doubting?

What do we allow fear to do?

• Distract – divert our attention from Him onto our fear

• Respond irrationally – man’s rationale vs God’s capabilities

• Remain frozen – “Impala Syndrome”

• Kill & destroy

How do we combat fear?

• Pray – connect with God

• Recall to mind God’s word & promises (see below)

• Then SPEAK them aloud – Psalm 118:2-4

• Choose courage

• Surround yourself with life giving resources

• Rinse & Repeat

Why do trials exist?

• What: trials are seasons or events of resistance

• Why: growth opportunities

• Trials are the process of success

• Fear kills, but fear is not my future, because if I allow it, fear can ignite a growth of faith.
